Chris has been involved with pipebands for over 30 years. His range of experience covers Grade 1 competitive bands down to Grade 4 performance bands. From rank and file piper to Pipe Major Chris has played and competed throughout Europe and North America.
 He was sound man for the 1997 Grade II Champions of Champions Pipeband and most recently acted as Pipe Major of the prestigious London Piping Society.
Pipeband consultation are always targeted to specific needs and can include all or some of the following:
1. Reed selection and adjustment
2. Pipe maintenance
3. Blowing tone
4. Band set up and tuning
5. Improving sound
6. Medley construction
7. General ensemble critique
Fees start at $500 per day exclusive of travel and accomodation. |

Chris is a certified solo judge for the Joint Committee for Judging (UK) as well as a holding a place on the judging board of the MidWest Pipeband Society (USA). He judges both light music and piob. contests in Britain and North America. 
Chris has over 30 years of performance experience on the highland bagpipes and the scottish smallpipes. He always maintains a professional attitude to all venues whether big or small, prestigious or low key.

Chris Apps' lecturing experience includes weekend workshops for novice pipers, day workshops for individual pipebands and even a lecture to the instructors at the scottish school of piping in Inverness.
