| Bocote is a hard wood from Mexico. Dark brown in color with fine grain and strong striped coloring. Ceylon Satinwood is strong with a fine grain and gives a rich color contrast with the dark woods used in the bagpipe. Light Cocobolo is a hard wood from Mexico and is more red with broader stripes that the Bocote. The light color provides an excellent contrast to the darker Cocobolo used for the bagpipes. |

| Sterling silver mounts are hollow spun and silver soldered in sections including the threaded inner sleeve. This construction makes them lightweight but very strong. |
